Revival of Love: Psonnets and Other Poems of Life, Love, and the Lord

Psonnets of Courtship
Desires Were Not Given Me

Devotionals are read, and prayers are said,
and night is falling, for the sun has set
on yet another day I could have met
a godly woman if she had been led
into my life by God. It was instead
a day I may remember or forget,
and whether I was happy or upset,
tonight, I lie alone again in bed.
God knows my heart's desires day by day
and gives them to me when I will delight
myself in Him. But have I not today?
And are my ways not pleasing in His sight?
Although I praise and worship Him, and pray,
desires were not given me tonight.
