Whoever finds a wife has found a good
and favorable gift from God above,
for she is loosed in heaven, loosed in love,
and bound in love on earth to whom she would
in heart and soul and mind be understood.
Yet breadth nor length nor depth nor height thereof
ever surpasses understanding of
the love of Christ. Nor love of husband could.
So when I find a woman I have found
I want to love and wed, be introduced
into our courtship as the root and ground
so she by earthly love is not seduced,
but purely, peaceably, and gently bound
in bonds of marriage, where our love is loosed.
