I celebrate Thee, Jesus Christ alone,
and lift Thee up the advent of this year,
who dreweth nigh and ever draweth near
my heart, my house, my heritage, my own,
hung on that Tree set in that Cornerstone,
and any who hath ears to hear may hear
these Christmas carols for the God I fear
and love, that loveth me and sent His Son.
Come lift Him high these high and holy days,
and celebrate with pomp and pageantry
His birth and infancy and childhood ways
and on toward that tragedy and Tree
and resurrection to the highest praise
this Christmas and throughout eternity.
